black bugs in worm bin

We have little black bugs all over the place from the worm composting bin. What are they and what needs adjusting to stop the invasion (well, a little exageration, perhaps, but there are a lot of them around). At first glance they look like mouse poop, until they start crawling around. If you need it I'll take a photo.

Yep, I need a photo. And put something in the bin so I can gauge size, like a dime or something.
