Concrete block worm bins

by Terry
(Conway, Arkansas)

I need to find some information on a worm bin design that I saw that was a concrete block design that had three seperate bins. Compost was in all three at various stages of development. The bins each had a sliding tray in the bottom that allowed for the worm castings (organic compost)to be easily collected. I see many books on raising worms, how to sell them everything but bin design. I'm not interested in selling worms,we are going to build a small greenhouse and I want to provide my wife with the best growing medium for her plants. If anyone can tell me where to find lots and I mean "LOTS" of information on bin designs I would truly appreciate it. I am interested in alot of different ideas and I am going to build it myself so no recommendations on buying something already made is necessary. Thanks

From BigTex Worms: I would love to see the same resource, but I have not seen anything of the like.
The best resource I use is youtube. Simply type in worm bin or concrete worm bin or wood worm bin whatever and you will see videos of all different kinds of bins. I might need to work on providing one!
Pollard worms here in texas uses concrete blocks but he does not have a mechanism at the bottom you describe.
You should join my forum and ask the folks there if they know of any bin design resources.
Sorry I could not be more helpful.
