different species of red wigglers

I was told that there are red wigglers that are native to Florida that handle our extreme heat better than the red wigglers sold outside of Florida.

Is this true?

Thank you,
Rebecca

Answer from BigTex Worms:
There is a seller in Florida who claims to sell a HYBRID red wiggler of some sort. I have not idea how that happens. They would have to inbreed them with another worm. But I am honestly unaware of any worms that tolerate higher temps than a eisenia foetida worms (red wigglers).
We had temps of 110+ for 3 weeks straight and over 100 days of 100+ temps this summer here in Texas. That is pretty hot and my reds lived, I did have to water my bins twice a day to keep them alive but they lived.
I cannot remember the name of the seller in Florida right now, but if I do remember the name, I will put it in the comments section. All I remember is that they had a rabbit farm too.

I hope this helps,
Liz
