FEEDING WORMS

by rachael
(naples, ny)

Can i underfeed my worms? if so, how will i know? or, will they just reproduce less- creating a balance between population and the amount of food available? THANX!

Answer from BigTex Worms

Yes, YOu can underfeed worms. They will actually die off if there is not enough food. So if you are unable to feed them enough kitchen scraps then you can simply supplement with shredded newspaper or shredded cardboard. They will munch on an inched of dampened shredded paper/cardboard for weeks. It do this when I am leaving on vacation.
