Homemade Compost Bins

by BigTex Worms

Thought I would share some photos of my homemade compost bins here.

The all black one is a a converted trashcan.
The painted black one is a converted 35 gallon food grade drum.
The small grey one is a rubbermaid tote style worm bin, which I do not use any longer (they get too heavy and are too small for my usage)
And the two large silver ones are my horse trough bins. These are my favorite, they are easy to use and do not take up too much space.

Making a composting bin is not hard. To make a worm bin, you simply need an OPAQUE (not see through) container and some air holes and that is about it!

I would like to make a homemade compost tumbler but I have not figured out how to do that just yet with my limited construction capabilities.

I would love to see some of your photos of worm bins. And if you have any questions about any of my bins, just post in the comments section and I will reply.
