How do we start?

by J Kinne
(Glens Falls, NY)

Hi. My daughter would like to start a worm compost bin for our family, but also for her science fair. I have been hesitant to start one because I am not really educated about how to best go about it. I don't want to invest a lot money because I'm not sure she will stick with it. What would you recommend? Also, the fair is in two weeks, so I don't know if that would be too short of a time frame to start a worm composting bin.

Thanks for your help.

Answer from BigTex Worms:
I offer a kids worm kit, complete with food, bedding, and a journal to log her findings. It also comes with a how to video for the child and a all inclusive worm information pamphlet for the parents.
If it is an observational science fair project then 2 weeks is fine but if she is expected to conduct an experiment of some sort, that is not enough time to do that.
If you are interested in the kids kit it is $15 including shipping and you can find it by clicking right here
But I only ship on Mondays/Tuesdays so if you need it soon, you will need to order by 9am Tuesday for it to ship this week.
