meal worms

by mike
(hopkins sc )

How do i get meal worms out of my red worm bed. THANK YOU

Answer from BigTex Worms
They are a dark orange hard shelled worm, right? I let my chickens get them out of my outdoor bin. The only suggestion I know to tell you is to pick them out by hand. They will leave in about a week when they morph anyway. BUT are you sure they are not black soldier fly larvae? They look like a maggot and are harder to get rid of. Either way, they are not harmful to a worm bin, GROSS but not harmful.
