missing worms

by nitin
(new delhi, india)

I have recently started my worm bin and all the worms were captured by me.... there were only 2 adult worms rest of them were small worms maybe baby worms..

my problem is that when i transfered all the worms in larger worm been i was unable to find the adult or big worms and small worms are also seem to be less in number.

i have re-checked both the bins couple of times buy couldn't find them.... thing is that they couldn't have escaped as the holes are very small for them and i was unable to find any dead worms either

so what have happen to them?

Yard worms are not meant to be caught and kept in a bin. Yard worms are burrowers, you need a special breed of worm to put in a worm bin. Either nightcrawlers or red wigglers. I have no idea what kind of native worms you have there.
Your worm either died or escaped. when they die, they pretty much disentigrate (melt) and they only need a tiny hole to escape. So it could be either scenerio.
