The rise of civilization is deeply rooted in the development of agriculture. As man learned how to cultivate food, he began building permanent settlements and abandoned his nomadic lifestyle. As man gained new insights into food growing techniques and added new crops to his repertoire, cultures grew and flourished. Food is the glue that has held societies together.
