Worm Farms in Texas
Hello there,
I have been reading up on composting for the last couple months and am ready to get started. I plan on doing a worm bin (probably go with the Worm Factory or the Gusanito as I like the "upward" migration idea) as well as a compost tumbler outside (for larger applications). I would like to start some square foot gardens next spring and figure I need to get started composting now. My question is, I live in Garland and was wanting to know if there were any worms farms that you know of over this way? I would like to take my kids to see what it's all about. I would love to come to you and take your class, but it's a bit a ways. I know that you have your online class, but I was hoping for something a little more "hand's on". Any contacts would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Brian

Answer from BigTex Worms
I am the online one in the DFW area who teaches classes, that I know of. There used to be a lady in Grand Prairie but I dont think she is doing it any longer. There is a guy who sells worms in Garland, he took my class last year. His name is Elbert. If you go to craigslist and do a search for red worms, his listing will come up. I am sure he could help you out. I do not know if he will do a private consultation or not but I know he sells worms.
