Worm tea runnoff

Can the worm tea that comes out of the bottom of my worm bins that I collect on a daily basis have to be used right away or can you store it and use it at a later date. Does it go bad? If it cant be saved, What a waste it is.

Answer from BigTex Worms
What a "waste" it is indeed. It is worm pee (worm waste), not compost tea. The liquid you get from the bottom of a retail bin is leachate: worm pee/runoff from fruit/veggie scraps. It has not benefits to your plants. I do not recommend using it as fertilizer. The only thing I recommend using it for is a compost activator for a regular compost pile. I have put it on plants in the past and see no benefits, quite the opposite. I know the manufacturers of the bins say different but my years of experience I wholeheartedly disagree. Worm tea is made by aerating finished castings in non-chlorinated water with some activator (molassis). If you want a compost tea recipe click here: instructions on making worm tea
