worms are trying to escape

I ordered a starter bag of worms from you and got them two days ago. We have woken up both days with worms spilling over the sides. I have tried all the things on your troubleshooting list. We have watched all your videos and have done more research past that before we even ordered them. We have the worms in an 18 gallon bin and was wondering if maybe there wasn't enough bedding for the amount of worms. Should I try adding moist paper to make more room? I did already put a little food in one corner, thinking that might help. Our bin is in the kitchen right now. We are using your starter bag and the bedding feels moist, we only fed a little in one corner, I followed your directions and I just don't know what else to try. Thank you for your attention.

Answer from BigTex Worms Are the worms on the inside of the walls of the bin? If so, this is normal.
But, if they are trying to escape the OUTSIDE of the bin:
Anytime worms try to escape the remedy is always the same: shine a light on the bin. Put the lid ON the bin and put a lamp next to the bin, turn the light on and leave it on for a few days.
Do not feed anymore right now. For your very first feed in a few days, feed a piece of watermelon, rind and all.
I am sorry you had this happen. I do not know why. Just to make sure none of this is out of order:
1. You added NO other bedding right?
2. YOu did shine a light on the bin for the w first 8-12 you had them as the start up guide suggests?
2. Your bin has air holes?
3. No one handled the worms?
4. The bin is not next to anything that vibrates? Like a floor fan or air conditioner?
5. Have you had a lot of rain this week? barometric pressure will make then crazy
Occasionally this happens when I ship worms, maybe the plane was not pressurized right and they are flipping out, who knows.
Just keep the lid tight and a light on them until they quit trying to get out and all will be fine.
