This unit is a flow through type bin. What does that mean? The concept is that you add worms/bedding to the bin, top feed, then after a certain amount of time, you turn the agitation device (built in) to remove the finished castings from the bottom layer of the unit. Below is a collection area for the castings. It also is made with a heating system for year round vermicomposting.
