yard worms

by Thomas P.
(Clarks Summit, PA)

When you have an indoor bin and no new worms except the ones hatched in your habitat is it necessary to bring in outside worms to keep a healthy population? I know you need to do that with most other animals so inbreeding doesn't become a problem.

Answer from BigTex Worms:
Yard worms are just that yard worms. They are not suited for a worm bin.
I tried it myself a few years ago adding some yard worms to one of my outdoor bins and within 24 hours they were gone. I dont know if they died or just left.
So I would not waste my time doing it again.
